Music Explorer is a collection of music ear-training and theory games for kids, classrooms, and families. We collect as little personal information as possible, and this page explains exactly what that is.

Playing without an account

Every free game works without an account. When you play signed out, we do not collect any personal information. Game scores, settings, and class-session data (including any student names a teacher types in classroom mode) are stored only in your browser's local storage and never leave your device.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

Music Explorer is designed so that children do not need accounts. Accounts are created by adults — teachers and parents — to purchase and manage premium access. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Students playing in a classroom are never asked to sign in, and student names entered by a teacher during a class session stay in the teacher's browser and are not sent to our servers.

What we collect when you create an account

• A username, your email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store the password itself).
• If you sign in with Google: your name, email, and profile image as provided by Google.
• If you purchase premium: your subscription status. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.

What we don't do

• No ads, and no selling or sharing of personal data with advertisers.
• No third-party tracking cookies. We use a session cookie to keep you signed in.
• No collection of gameplay data tied to individual students.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run the service: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Stripe (payments), and Resend (transactional email such as password resets). Each receives only the data needed to perform its function.

Data retention & deletion

We keep account data while your account is active. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us through the support form and we will remove it promptly.
